I first heard about LinkedIn in 2004. It was mentioned on a podcast and I thought to myself, “here we go again, another social networking site. This will last a year or so.” Nevertheless, I signed up for it a few months later and was taken aback at all the neat things I could do with it. Of course I could brag up my accomplishments and get job inquiries from recruiters - but what I was most impressed with was the ability to join groups. There were groups of like-minded peers who were collaborating and debating about topics I was extremely interested in. I could also look up companies I was considering hiring for corporate brochure design and other services. My experience with LinkedIn groups were so positive that I even created a group for alumni of my college. It now has 150 members and it’s been a wonderful tool for keeping in touch with former classmates. It’s also been a breeding ground for some interesting discussions about our school and its growth. |

While interacting with your friends on the social network, it reaches a time that you might wish to do away with some of them. You might wish to facebook cancel friend request because due to a number of reasons. In the first instance, probably you do not know them well and therefore you will not want them to be your friends at all costs. One other thing that would make you disagree with a friends request is whereby they are inviting you to attend to a certain event or function which you are sure you won't find time to attend. It is easier to decline a friends request on a social site like Facebook. The request normally comes with two options that will prompt you either to agree to it or to disagree. If you wish to decline the request, then you will just need to click on the cancel request icon. This will automatically indicate that you are not interested in the request. Your friend will get the same feedback on their side. Any time you get a Facebook request that you are not interested in, just click on the decline or cancel button. |

When organizing for the shooting of a film, there are so many people who are involved in the whole process, and you never know who you will meet in the long run. When shooting the film Planet of the Apes, tim burton, an American film director and producer met his long term partner in the midst of all his work. The film itself is said to be different compared to those others which he had written and produced earlier and most of his fans thought it was a signed contract for him to write the movie for someone else. There are reports that say he was not in good terms with the studio directors and he could even walk out in the middle of the shooting. The video though was a major success and has covered a very wide commercial base. It is the only ape movie that he has ever written and it was later referred to as the Rise of the Apes. The woman Burton met as his long term partner is none other than actress Helena Carter. |

In the film industry, there is a lot of competition that you have to overcome if in any way the audience should recognize you and that is why you see people fighting to be the main characters in programs because they will not be forgotten easily. The truth of the matter is that it does not really matter the role you play in your program, it is how you play it that counts. For many good reasons, acting is one of the careers that can get you to the top very easily all you have to do is show that you can perform. American actor sylvester stallone is one who has experienced growth in his career because of how he represented the roles he was given when acting. He is not only an actor but also a screen writer, film maker and an occasional painter. If you take your work seriously no matter how low it may appear to be, you will be surprised at the openings it will create for you in the future. If you are good at something, it will be noticed and you wonnt have to climb on the top of the highest hill and shout for you to be recognized. |

My mother happens to be my best friend. I talk to her about a lot of things. People wonder how a parent can be a friend and what they do not realise my mother is not just any mother, she is the best that ever was. She had to take care of me alone and she always says that the best decision that she ever made was deciding to keep me and even if that caused her to give up a lot in life, nothing is worth more than me. I remember when I was old enough to join Facebook she made sure that I did not put a lot of personal information on the profile. There was a series of young girls who had fallen prey of men who were out to get them through facebook and my mother had to contact facebook support team to find out how she can make my profile more secure. That is where she learned that there were those people who pretended that they were young boys and that is how they got the little girls to trust them. |

My roommates are not indoor people like me. They cannot even sit through an entire movie and they are always taking bathroom breaks, it is no fun watching movies with them. They say the exact thing about me when it comes to outdoor activities like hiking. They embark in very tedious activities and they say that resting every ten minutes is not the definition of fun. During one winter season, we got snowed in and were not allowed to go anywhere and that meant spending time indoors. They hated it, we tried watching movies together and they ended up sleeping because they said they would rather sleep than stare at the screen for more than hour. They tried playing Facebook games and they reached a point where they had to start paying for some of those games. They wanted to know how to email facebook support so that they can know if that site was legit. What they got from Facebook was that that was not part of their sites and that putting their financial information was not safe at all. |

My older brother fears people getting in to his business. He says that is invasion of his privacy and he cannot condone that. When he first joined facebook, he did not set any privacy settings and this caused him a lot of grief. He put a lot of picture of him and I and he even tagged me in most of them. I started getting numerous friend requests from people that I barely knew. They would flirt with me and some even made my pictures their profile pictures. This really annoyed me because I had set the privacy settings well, and I that is when I had to teach my brother on Facebook how to create the privacy settings work on his profile. First of all, he was very annoyed by what the boys were doing. Since most of them were from the neighbourhood, he tracked them all down and warned them against going anywhere near me. That made them fear me a lot and that made me happy. I was just happy that I was one of my brothers valued peoples. |

Religion is probably one of the most important things that one considers when making certain decisions in their lives. What they believe in and what they do not believe in suddenly becomes important. The more one matures in thoughts, the more these beliefs change and it could be they change for the better. When growing up, it is the parents who install some sorts of belief in your head about life and its existence. But when you grow up and you can be able to know the difference between what you were taught and what you see, you tend to view religion in your own way. For an actor like bruce willis, he believes that religion is a dying form where people tend to create their own ideas on the happening s in planet earth. For him he believes that taking things literally and he chooses to believe this way, and that is how he lives his life. You can have your own perception on religion, but be sure that it is what you believe and not what others have made you to believe. |

As an individual, you are always determined to present yourself as the best at all times. This is mainly because you want to keep your dignity and self pride. It is a good thing and is very beneficial to the healthy growth of an individual. Your Facebook hide option is uploaded to help you with this, you could easily hide your profile of you feel that the public should not view it but only your friends should. Sometimes it is very important to consider your own privacy, imagine if everyone has to see you and what you do and they do not know you, not that it’s a bad thing because you could be creating a good rapport for yourself, but it might not be all that good for people who prefer keeping themselves private and living their own lives. It is upon you to decide if you prefer hiding your details so that other people cannot view them or even show it to the whole world if you wish. After all, the account is your to control. |

Women are strong people and they are capable of doing things that men cannot even do even if they tried. The one thing that women should be most appreciated of is the ability to maintain life in her body for nine months and then later bring the baby to the world. There is a lot of research looking for ways in which men can do this themselves but there is no success and you wonder why. When a woman gets pregnant, a lot happens in her body. She goes through drastic changes both physically and emotionally and there are those who are not ready to be parents and they wish to terminate the pregnancy. There are people who are against pro choice and they say that the man has a right to the pregnancy too. That is part true but it the woman who carries the baby and thus before the fetus can grow one can terminate it. charlize theron the South African born actress, is one of the few celebrities who support pro choice. She is very active in the rallies of women's rights and this just shows the importance of pro choice. |

Twitter is undeniably the "in" thing these days. I heard that a lot of Hollywood stars have joined this bandwagon and have in fact, opened their own Twitter accounts. Having no idea at all what a twitter is, it's easy for me to be mislead by all these tweets which could be a source of intrigues and even scandals. I also learned that quite a number of the biggest names in Hollywood have opted not to have twitter accounts because they just do not see its point. People of their status must probably want to avoid any problem with all tweets feed. This is quite understandable. If I were a big star myself, I would not even dare open a twitter account. I see it as an open invitation to the public to see and pry into my private affairs. I do not want that for sure. But it also has its advantages according to active users. They say it's easy to use and much easier to connect with friends all over the world. But for me, facebook is much better. |

If you are among those who have interest in music then you should know various aspects of music like rhythms or chords and many others. One more important aspect of pitch is - the perfect pitch also referred as absolute pitch. For those who don’t know what perfect pitch means let me tell you, it is the efficiency to play or sing with any musical instrument without any note provided and or heard before.

I love all types of art - from classic canvas prints to modern art. And though I’m not an artist I still like to devote time to see the art as I’m very fond of art. The artists display their feelings and imagination very beautifully through various type of art. Some artists use bright and vibrant colors to display their art where as other others use light and dull colors. The artists really have some inborn talent in them and are able to draw an art with a stroke. During my recent visit to Delhi I paid a visit to Delhi art gallery. I was dumbfounded to see the various art work displayed. I spend a whole day in the art gallery and saw each and every art displayed in minute details. It was really worth spending a day in the art gallery as I got many creative ideas by seeing the art. |
