When I Said in Sickness and in Health, I Didn't Mean on My Honeymoon!

Fred and I got married a mere 7 months after meeting. It was a whirlwind relationship, but when you've met your soul mate you just know. We had a small wedding for about 100 people in the church we had been attending, and exchanged gold wedding rings, holding our nerves and enjoying the moment. It was a simple affair, but very nice and stress free.
My colors were dark purple and cream, so I wore a dark purple dress and Fred wore a dark blue suit. It was the second wedding for both of us. The wedding went off without a hitch. My friends from my old work place and my new work place were all able to make it. My friend Sheryl's son had the sniffles, but did really well throughout the ceremony. After we were legal, Fred and I drove 2 hours to a honeymoon cabin we had rented.
There was a snowstorm on the way to the cabin, which made seeing in the mountainous curves a little tricky. We eventually arrived at our cabin without too much trouble in the late evening hours. We decided to retire early and start exploring the next morning. Boy were we wrong! The next morning, I jumped out of bed ready to go explore the caverns. Fred, on the other hand, couldn't get out of bed. Seems Sheryl's son had the flu and my new husband had caught it!!! Fred laid in bed for 3 days with a temperature of 102 until I was finally able to talk him into going to the closes hospital (about an hour away). The doctor gave him a shot in the butt and Fred sucked it up and was able to spend the next few days exploring with his new wife. A year later on our 1st anniversary, as we were packing the car to leave for a weekend trip, I stepped down wrong and broke my foot! After a visit to the emergency room, we went ahead and left on our trip. I had to finally stop teasing Fred about getting sick on our honeymoon! 9 years later, we are still in love and still married!
